101 V.P.M. "VERY PRIVATE MOMENTS" PHOTOGRAPHS BY DICK ZIMMERMAN

The idea for this book came into my life at a time when an escape from the pressures of being a high fashion and celebrity photographer was needed as much as an escape from the White House is much needed by our leader.

Everyone needs privacy, a time for themselves and everyone has a place where they need to be and only to be. The concept is a simple one...but the execution complicated.

To make a photograph out of those moments require strong conceptual imagination and visual exaggeration to make them shockingly interesting enough to stir attention as well as creating a timeless, esthetically pleasing caricature of each moment. So each require a great idea! ...great lighting! . great locations! ...great styling! ...and most importantly the desire and cooperation of the subject to have the courage to take a chance to help create a visual that goes beyond the expectations of the viewer as each page is turned...an image that stirs controversy!

Photography is a dichotomy! It's the only profession which is the easiest to start...and the hardest to succeed in. Just purchase a camera, print up a business card and you're off! ..oh really? I got news for you buddy, do you have any idea what's really involved? What it's really like? What's really out there?

There's a lot more than fame, big bucks and beautiful woman on those front lines and that's only three of the traps! But it's also three of the rewards.
